About us

About Us

Located in the old Cooperage Building, the Bermuda Craft Market is home to a group of talented crafters creating beautiful hand made items. Most days several of the crafters will be present and happy to chat about their work and answer any questions. We invite you to browse the market for that special gift for yourself or a friend.
Among the crafts for sale are handmade candles, Bermuda cedar items, note cards, ceramics and Christmas decorations of many kinds. We carry jewelry, hand dyed silk scarves, hand made soaps, scrubs and bath salts, sea glass decorations and toys. Our cigar roller (here every day from May through September) will roll you a fresh one or help you select a Cuban from his large assortment. A wide selection of Bermuda books is available along with antique books and prints and reproduction Bermuda maps. If you should need a snack we carry locally made fudge, cookies, granola and organic peanut butter and bottled water and sodas are also available.

Our Artists and Crafters

Janet Bento

I am a crafter and have always loved all crafts and started quite young with my Aunt Rose who taught me embroidery.
In the 1970’s I tried quilling and after a few years it faded into the background but I never forgot how to roll the paper and few years ago I saw some quilled snowflakes on a friend’s Christmas Tree and thought I would give it another try. So the Longtail, Poinsettias and Angels were born. I hand cut all my paper for these ornaments and each is a unique creation.
Recently I started I learned to Watercolor and the frames are sure to bring pleasure and are my  newest creations.

Heidi Augustinovic

Born in Berlin and growing up in Austria after the war, I have been making Christmas Ornaments since childhood due to my artistic mother. She made beautiful Christmas Ornaments and despite hard times our tree was always spectacular!
Ending up with my husband in Bermuda, I decided to find out whether I inherited some of my mother’s talent. Being
a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, I started making Ornaments for the Christmas Tree in the Hospital Lobby and performed this task for well over two decades – all in pink, the colour of our uniforms – everybody seemed to love it. Many visitors to the Hospital wanted to buy them and encouraged me to make some for sale. Several decades later, with my husband’s help (he is an expert with the drill!), I am still hard at work, being kept busy by a devoted group of customers on and off the Island, who continue to buy my ornaments, some of them featuring semi precious stones and pearls, for family and friends. Knowing that my customers will remember me at least once a year when decorating their Christmas tree makes me very happy!

Sheila Gomez

Sheila Gomez Sources some of the finest quality perfume oils and after many years of mixing the different combinations she offers the most popular scents which are uniquely packaged to create a mood of pampering, indulgence and a simply good feeling.

Grant Kennedy

My name is Grant Kennedy and I am native of the beautiful island of Bermuda. I have been rolling hand-made cigars since 2011, after a career of teaching social sciences to high school kids. I’ve always had a passion for both cigars and people and started this business to help others enjoy their passion.
I offer a wide range of Cuban cigars and assortment of hand-rolled Bermuda-made cigars using premium tobacco from all over the world. This includes my unique Bermuda rum-infused cigars and cigarillos. I also happen to be Bermuda’s one and only cigar roller!
You can purchase cigars directly from this website. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions –or even to just “talk cigars” (my favorite topic!) Thx. Grant

Carole Havercroft

Many moons ago, Carole studied Visual Communications at Goldsmith’s College London, England. She works as a Graphic Designer, initially in the print world; newspaper advertising & production and then at advertising agencies, before setting out on her own.
She creates her fun and colourful illustrations by digital art. Some begin as hand-drawings, some from photographs (mostly her photography of her husband’s) which then get moved to and created on the computer with various graphics applications.
Her love for animals is a big part of what she illustrates. These original designs and creations are also inspired by the history, life, love and critters of Bermuda. Carole is semi-retired now; still in the advertising field part-time, still doing fun pet illustrations & tea towels …and showing her dogs when she can.

Mary & Leslie Johnson

We have been crafting with Cedar and Sea Glass for over 5 years, this allows me to use up all the sea glass that i have been collecting for many years.
Leslie and I craft the cedar pieces in our wood work shop and I wire wrap and wood burn the decoration of each piece.

Warren started Shades of Grey as a collection of pen and ink sketches of Bermuda during the summer of 1992.  It was during the summer of 1992 that Warrens fathers construction company filed for bankruptcy.  As a result his parents could only afford to send  his sisters back to school in the United States and Canada.  In turn his father asked that he drop out of school and work with him in the construction industry for a year.  Warren was determined not to delay his dream of becoming and architect.  So to his surprise Warren set up a studio in the recreation room of the house and started “Shades of Grey” by the end of the summer, with the help of a  major article in the local paper Warren had made enough monty through sales, scholarships, and big cooperative sponsors to convince his father to send him back to school.  Warren graduated  with a bachelors degree of Architecture from Pratt Institute in 1995. Three years later  Warren complete his Masters Degree of Architect  at the southern institute of Architecture and in 2003 obtained his new York state Architectural license.  Shades of Grey has grown to 28 images and are available in The Bermuda Craft Market
